In a recent art auction, organized by the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), several artists raised the amount of € 4,275 to support The Crowd Versus Chevron Oil Spill.
In a warm response from Quito, Pablo Fajardo, the Ecuadorian lawyer who legally represents many of the 30,000 oil spill victims, writes to all crowdfunders supporting this international landmark case:
“On behalf of UDAPT (the organization representing Ecuadorian plaintiffs), I want to express our most sincere and profound gratitude for your great generosity. Your contribution will be used by Fromboliere (attorneys) to strengthen our legal action against Chevron. We hope to continue to work on the next phase, thanks for the support.”
Pablo was born and grew up in the Amazon rainforest area heavily polluted by Texaco (now Chevron).
